Samael released "Black Matter Manifesto" this Thursday, the 30th, his first new song in eight years. The song follows his last full album, Hegemony , from 2017.
Michael “Vorph” Locher, the band's vocalist, stated: “Opposites in life have been a recurring theme in the band's lyrics, which finally find resolution in the song 'Black Matter Manifesto'. The search for harmony ends where darkness reigns.”
Formed in 1987, Samael is among the most influential forces in extreme metal, reshaping the genre with classics such as Worship Him (1990) and Passage (1996). Blending black metal, industrial, and symphonic metal into their own signature sound, the band continues to push boundaries with grim precision and apocalyptic grandeur, remaining as relevant as ever, almost 40 years since their founding.
