Big-budget production casts band as members of the Swedish Royal Guard.

Sabaton continues to proudly display the Swedish Royal Guard in his new single. “The Royal Guard” is the English version of his previous release, “Livgardet,” a narrative about the glories of this select group within the country's army.

With a brand new music video set in the early days of the crown, the band surprises with the cinematic quality of the production. The first video shows behind-the-scenes footage of the military group's actions, represented by the band members themselves, while the new one places the Swedish Royal Guard at the center of the action to defend the kingdom's interests.

“Our new song is about the great story of one of the oldest military regiments in the world, formed where Sabaton also originated!”, comments bassist Pär Sundström . “It was incredible to write about Swedish history again after almost 10 years since we wrote 'Carolus Rex'.”
