Apocalyptica was invited to do a cover of the track before its official release
Sabaton formed an unusual partnership. The band sent the track "Fields Of Verdun" to Apocalyptica to cover and release before the original.
The original will be on Sabaton's next album, The Great War , which will be released on July 19th.
Regarding the collaboration, bassist Pär Sundström said: “I saw an Apocalyptica show in Madrid last year. I was blown away by the magical atmosphere they created,” he commented.
"This made me eager to see what fantastic musicians would do with one of our songs. And it would be even more fun if we let them do a cover of an unreleased song."
