Sabaton announces the return of guitarist Thobbe Englund . The musician replaces Tommy Johansson , who announced his departure less than a month ago via social media.

Thobbe Englund joined the band in April 2012 and recorded the albums Heroes (2014) and The Last Stand (2016), leaving in 2016 to focus on his personal life and expand his creativity.

The musician returns eight years later and expresses great satisfaction: “Words cannot express how ready and excited I am to return to Sabaton. It feels like I'm on a short vacation. The time has come, love is in the air, and the best is yet to come!”

The band is working on their 11th studio album and preparing for a 19-show tour in the United States with Judas Priest.

Tommy Johansson's departure

After seven years with Sabaton, guitarist Tommy Johansson announced his departure via a statement on the band's social media.

“After 7 incredible years in the band, our guitarist, Tommy, has decided to leave Sabaton to pursue his own path. We wish him nothing but the best on his journey. We have been a close-knit family and will continue to support him in the adventures that await him in the future.”
