Geddy Lee says he's happy for the fans
After years of waiting, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame finally inducted Rush into the ceremony today. The ceremony will also honor Heart, Public Enemy, Randy Newman, Albert King, and Donna Summer.
Rush bassist and vocalist Geddy Lee said the award is an honor and that the band will be present at the event. Lee added that he is happy for the fans, who rallied around the cause. For the first time in the award's history, the public can vote for the pre-selected artists. Lee said he shares the honor with all of them.
Rush's absence from the Hall of Fame was a point of criticism from the band's fan community. As a result, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is slowly redeeming itself for questionable decisions. The ceremony will take place on April 18, 2013.
