The band may still release albums.
In an interview published today by Rolling Stone, Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson confirmed Rush's retirement from touring. According to the musician, drummer Neil Peart is no longer physically capable of completing tours, and had difficulty completing the last one.
“His shoulders were aching, his arms, elbows, feet, everything. He didn’t want to play at less than 100%. And he was finding it increasingly difficult to achieve that on the last tour. So, with all that, I understand. I’m disappointed and I think Geddy [Lee] is very disappointed, we would have loved to continue the tour a little longer, but we’ve stopped now.”
Lifeson doesn't deny the possibility of more releases in the future, but says everything is still uncertain: "We're getting older and it's getting harder, but I don't know. We'll see."
