Drummer Rui Motta , formerly of Os Mutantes , died at the age of 72 last Wednesday, the 17th.
The information came via the musician's social media, and the cause of death was not revealed. Another post contains more information about the wake, which will take place this Thursday, the 18th, at 10:00 AM in Chapel 7 of the São João Batista Cemetery. The burial will be at 1:30 PM.
A self-taught drummer, he played with names like Ney Matogrosso , Zé Ramalho , Erasmo Carlos and Steve Hackett , as well as Os Mutantes. Motta was also a teacher and ran the Rui Motta Drum Workshop in Rio de Janeiro.
