Roy Thomas Baker , an English music producer known for working with major names in music, has died at the age of 78. The news was released by his representatives on April 22nd, however, Baker passed away at his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, on April 12th, according to his family.

Baker began his career working at Deca Studios in London when he was just 14 years old, later becoming a sound engineer at Trident Studios . His contributions started with artists such as the Rolling Stones , The Who , David Bowie , and others.

In 1973 he began a partnership with Queen , a partnership that resulted in one of his greatest hits; "Bohemian Rhapsody".

Regarding the classic, Thomas stated in a 1999 interview with Mix Magazine: "'Bohemian Rhapsody' was totally insane, but we enjoyed every minute of it. It was basically a joke, but a successful one."

Baker produced significant works with big names in the music world. In the late 1970s, these include two Journey and Foreigner 's *Cars* and *Head Games *.

In the early 1980s he kept producing music with Alice Cooper , Cheap Trick , Mötley Crüe , and Ozzy Osbourne . Working at Elektra Records, he contributed to the signing of Metallica , Simply Red , and 10,000 Maniacs .

Over the next few decades, he produced albums for The Darkness , Smashing Pumpkins , and other bands. His last credited work was on the 2014 Yes, Heaven & Earth
