Conception ceased operations in 1998 and is now back.
The Italian radio program Heavy Demons Conception vocalist Roy Khan , formerly of Kamelot, and guitarist Tore Østby , where Khan discussed whether his spirituality will influence the band's lyrics.
“Conception will never be a religious band by any standard, and there are some lyrics that I would now think differently about, but that doesn’t mean we can’t play the songs or anything. I look at myself as an artist, and let’s say you act in a play, for example, someone has the play Mephistopheles. That doesn’t mean the person is evil in any sense. I think it’s important to be able to portray the tragic and dark side of life without being suspected of being a bad person. That being said, there will, of course, be some songs that address those themes. Anything else would be strange. It’s not going to be a religious album, obviously.”
Conception ceased operations in 1998, and shortly after, Roy Khan joined Kamelot, leaving the band in 2011.
