Possessing some of the greatest hits of the 80s, Roxette returned to Brazil for two shows. After performing in Rio de Janeiro, the band played in São Paulo, at Espaço Unimed, last Tuesday, the 14th.

Seven years after the death of Marie Fredriksson, who died at age 61 from brain cancer, Per Gessle overcame his grief and brought Roxette to Brazil with new vocalist Lena Philipsson.

With a diverse setlist and a ban on showing the concert on the venue's screens, the Swedish band managed to revisit their career classics. Hits like "It Must Have Been Love," "The Look," "Spending My Time," and "Listen to Your Heart" were all present – a real treat for fans who had waited more than a decade for Roxette's return.

This new Roxette tour carries the emotional weight of Marie Fredriksson's absence, but it also shows a band that has found a respectful way to move forward. The new vocalist tried hard, but unfortunately couldn't quite reach the tone and mastery of the late Marie. However, Lena had the support of fans who held up signs saying "Thank you, Lena," in a warm reception. In return, Lena delivered charisma in a different performance, but one that carries the energy of Roxette.
