The album will succeed Rituals (2016).
Rotting Christ is currently preparing for the release of their album, The Heretics , which will be released on February 15, 2019, by Season of Mist.
In preparation for the release, the Greeks released the first unreleased track from the album, "Fire, God and Fear," and now they have released the second single, "Heaven and Hell and Fire," along with a lyric video.
In the song, the band highlights two quotes: "the mind is its own place and in itself can make a heaven out of hell, a hell out of heaven," from the English poet John Milton.
The second line, which concludes the song, is from Thomas Paine, considered one of the Founding Fathers of the United States: “I do not believe in the beliefs professed by the church, by any church I know. My own mind is my own church.”
