Rotting Christ has just been immortalized by two scientists from Luxembourg who discovered a fossil and named it Brezinacantha Tolis in honor of vocalist Sakis Tolis and drummer Themis Tolis.

Dr. Ben Thy and Dr. Lea Numberger recently discovered a new species of starfish that lived in a dark and toxic environment on the ocean floor. "This is very black metal," the scientists told the press, "So we're honoring Sakis and Themis Tolis in our own way, with academic recognition of all their talent and work."

Upon hearing the news, the siblings responded happily: “I am deeply grateful to the paleontological community and especially Dr. Ben Thy and Dr. Lea Numberger for naming this species in our honor! This is one of the greatest honors I have ever received as an individual and a musician, and it gives me strength to continue creating in these crazy times.”

Brezinacantha Tolis is on display at the Natural History Museum in Maastricht, Netherlands. See the creature below.
