“I am proud of these women,” says Rose McGowan, Marilyn Manson’s ex-girlfriend

"When he was with me, he wasn't like this, but that doesn't mean he wasn't like this with others before or after," she states in a video

Marilyn Manson 's longtime partner , actress Evan Rachel Wood , revealed that she was abused for years by the artist, and was followed by other women who also shared their stories with Manson. Rose McGowan , also expressed pride in the victims' courage.

McGowan was an important name in Manson's public relationship history, with whom she was involved from 1997 to 2001 and even became his fiancée for a brief period, becoming one of the most talked-about couples of the time. In a video, Rose states that she supports Evan and the other women who have spoken out, although she claims that she did not suffer abuse from the musician during the time she was with him.

“The cult of Hollywood, fame, and the music industry must be stopped from protecting predators and selling their evil to the world. Their evil has a far greater reach than a nuclear bomb. When those at the top help monsters to thrive, they hurt us all,” she writes in the caption.

“I am deeply saddened and disgusted today. But I am mostly proud. Proud of Evan Rachel Wood and the others who have spoken out against Marilyn Manson, my ex,” McGowan declares in a video. “When he was with me, he wasn’t like this, but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t like this with others before or after. It takes time to speak up. And again, I am proud. I am proud of these women and anyone who stands up against an abuser. They steal time. They are time eaters. They steal lives. They steal hopes, dreams, freedom, sexuality, love.”

“I’m also here to say to the ‘cult leaders in Hollywood’ who employed and sanctioned him… Interscope Records and Sony were with him during the Evan period. You know you’re complicit. All the managers, PR people, agents, lawyers, the Hollywood cult has to stop,” she concludes. The record label that Marilyn Manson currently worked with declared after the reports that it had terminated its contract with the artist.
