The Dio hologram will be accompanied by live musicians
In 2016, a hologram of Ronnie James Dio performed in Germany, and in 2017, at the Pollstar Awards. Now, in 2019, fans will have another opportunity to see a hologram of Ronnie James Dio in person.
According to Billboard , the Dio hologram tour will feature over 100 shows next year. The event will be produced by Eyellusion, which has the singer's widow as a partner.
“The big question when we did a small tour of Europe was whether people would actually come to see us,” Jeff Pezzuti of Eyellusion told Billboard. “The last three shows sold out in Europe and we did very, very well.”
The Dio hologram production will feature audio from the musician's live performances. The band accompanying the recorded vocals will consist of Simon Wright on drums, Craig Goldy on guitar, Scott Warren on keyboards, and Bjorn Englen on bass. Singers Tim “Ripper” Owens and Oni Logan will also be on tour.
Eyellusion also plans to do a Frank Zappa next year.
