The long-awaited autobiography of the legendary Ronnie James Dio may reach fans later this year, says the artist's widow and longtime manager, Wendy Dio .

The news was shared during a recent interview with RockSverige , “I have the book, Ronnie’s autobiography, it’s finally finished with [rock journalist] Mick Wall , and I think it will be released on Ronnie’s birthday, July 10th. Ronnie had written half of it, and Mick Wall and I got together and found a lot of interviews, so I still wanted it to be Ronnie’s voice. I’m very happy about it.”

Wendy also updated fans on the progress of the first documentary about the icon's life, authorized by his family and financed and produced by BMG . “It will probably come out next year. We were working on it, and then it had to be paused because they had to go to Europe to interview more people, and due to travel restrictions [due to the COVID-19 pandemic], they couldn't do that. Hopefully it will be released in 2022.”

“We’ve been working on this for a few years,” she continues, adding that the production will cover Dio’s entire life, from his childhood to his days with Elf to his final project, Heaven & Hell . “I can’t talk about it yet because they don’t want me to reveal everything now, and then there won’t be anything to talk about when it’s released [laughs].”
