Wendy Dio , widow and longtime manager of Ronnie James Dio , stated in a recent interview that the documentary about the life and career of the legendary rock star will be released sometime in 2022.

“It’s going to be released this year,” Wendy confirmed. “I recently saw the first cut of the film. I was very moved. It’s different from the autobiography because the book ends in 1986, with Ronnie playing at Madison Square Garden, but the documentary covers his entire life until the end.”

Wendy Dio also mentioned some special appearances, such as Lita Ford , Jack Black , Eddie Trunk , and the author of Dio's autobiography, Mick Wall , in addition to praising the stories told by Rob Halford , who is also present.

This is the first documentary about Ronnie James Dio to be authorized by the musician's estate, and it has BMG as its financier and executive producer.
