The late Ronnie James Dio would have turned 79 this Saturday, July 10th, and to celebrate the date in his memory and tribute, The Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund – dedicated to cancer prevention, research and education – organized an online fundraising event.
The global event will begin at 6 PM (Brasilia time) and will feature musical performances, interviews with guests, storytelling from Dio's friends and fans, and exclusive archival footage of his life and career. Some of the confirmed names include Vinny Appice, Sebastian Bach, Joey Belladonna, Gilby Clarke, Mikkey Dee, Sammy Hagar, Rob Halford, Lzzy Hale, Tony Iommi, Richie Kotzen , and many others.
Tickets to attend the super event are available via Rolling Live Studios starting at $20, as are tickets to attend the VIP After Party, which takes place on Sunday, July 11th, also starting at 6 PM (Brasilia time). The Dio Cancer Fund was inaugurated in 2011, the year following Ronnie James Dio's battle with stomach cancer.
