The Rolling Stones have released the music video for "Scarlet," a song they recently released and which was originally recorded in 1974 with Jimmy Page on guitar.

In the video, actor Paul Mescal , best known for his role in the series Normal People , appears drunk at the Claridge Hotel in London. The clip was filmed respecting social distancing, as Mescal is the only one who appears in it. At the beginning, we see the actor talking to the camera, sending a message to someone.

“Scarlet” is one of three songs that the Stones will release with the deluxe edition of Goats Head Soup Goats Head Soup tour concert recorded in Brussels, Belgium, on October 17, 1973.

The Stones recorded “Scarlet” with Jimmy Page and Ric Grech , bassist of Traffic , in October 1974. “I remember we came in at the end of a Led Zeppelin ,” recalls Richards, “They were leaving and we had booked the studio right after and I think Jimmy decided to stay. We hadn’t planned on doing a song together, it was basically for a demo, a demonstration, you know, just to see how it would sound, but it turned out really cool and with a lineup like that, you know, we had to use it.”

Before the pandemic, the British band was planning to tour North America as part of the No Filter Tour Together at Home online event and released “Living in a Ghost Town,” their first new song since 2012.
