The Stones' new album will be their first of new material since 2005.

Guitarist Ronnie Wood had suggested that work on the new album had stopped. According to him, Mick Jagger wanted to "make sure the songs are really good".
Now, Richards has revealed that they will be in the studio for a week before starting their American tour.
He said he spent the holiday period processing the material they had written. “Sometimes it’s less about writing than about listening to what’s already been written. We have to understand everything and fit things together,” he explained. “It’s very boring. It’s like going into a carpentry shop.”
