The Rolling Stones announce a new album after 18 years and release the single “Angry”

'Hackney Diamonds' will be released in October and features Lady Gaga

Catching fans by surprise, the Rolling Stones announced their new studio album, Hackney Diamonds .

This project is the band's first album of new material in 18 years and also the first without the late drummer Charlie Watts , who passed away in 2021.

The official announcement took place during a livestream with the members of the Rolling Stones and host Jimmy Fallon , where the band unveiled their new single and music video , "Angry," and discussed details of the album, which will be released on October 20th.

According to Ronnie Wood and Mick Jagger , Hackney Diamonds was made very quickly, having been started last Christmas, finished in January and mixed in February.

One of the surprises was the tracklist, which includes a guest appearance by pop singer Lady Gaga on the track "Sweet Sounds of Heaven".

In total, Hackney Diamonds contains 12 tracks, but according to Ronnie Wood, the Rolling Stones recorded a total of 23 unreleased songs, which could mean a second album very soon.
