The Rolling Stones released today, the 22nd, a previously unreleased song in collaboration with none other than Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin and Ric Gerch of Blind Faith . The track, which was originally recorded in 1974, had never been released, but the re-release of the 1973 album, Goats Head Soup , seems to be the right time to unveil this historic partnership to the world.
“What I remember is that we came in at the end of a [Led] Zeppelin session,” recalls Keith Richards . “They were just leaving, and we had booked the next session, and I think Jimmy decided to stay. We weren’t really doing it for a track, it was basically for a demo, a demonstration, you know, just to get a taste of it, but it turned out well, with a lineup like that, you know, we better use it.”
“I remember first playing with Jimmy and Keith in Ronnie [Wood] . It was a great session,” recalls Mick Jagger .
