The publisher Belas Letras will release two books that explore the legacies left by the Rolling Stones and Charlie Watts in rock n' roll. They will be available for purchase starting April 12th on the publisher's official website .
Charlie Watts – Sympathy for the Drummer was written by Mike Edison and tells the whole story of the late drummer as an anti-rockstar who shunned the spotlight.
" The True Adventures of the Rolling Stones ," written by journalist Stanley Booth , is based on the British group's 1969 American tour. This tour was marked by the infamous Altamont , which was marred by death and chaos.
"This book details the entire history of the Stones, paying special attention to the tragedy of Brian Jones ; it's about much more than just a writer and a rock band. It has been considered – by Harold Brodkey and Robert Stone , among others – the best book ever written about the 1960s," reveals the project's summary.
The first chapters can be found here: Charlie Watts – Sympathy for the Drummer and The True Adventures of the Rolling Stones .
