Rolling Stones announces re-release of Rock and Roll Circus

The soundtrack will be released on vinyl for the first time in June of this year

In 1968, the Rolling Stones put on a musical circus on television with several legendary guest appearances, including The Who, Jethro Tull , and Dirty Mac – the supergroup formed by John Lennon, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards , and Mitch Mitchell – among others.

“It was an incredible shoot, I think it was 36 hours or something like that. I remember not remembering everything at the end, but it was fun. We performed for two audiences. It exhausted me and it was great!”, said guitarist Keith Richards about the recording.

Rock and Roll Circus aired in 1996 and now, on June 7th, it will be re-released in a remastered 4K version on DVD and Blu-Ray. In addition, the soundtrack will be released on vinyl for the first time.
