Founder of Rolling Stone magazine accused of sexual abuse by former employee.

He says that after the incident, the founder offered him a job.

A former employee of the American magazine Rolling Stone has accused its founder, Jann Wenner, of sexual abuse in the workplace.

Jonathan Wells says he decided to expose Wenner after learning of the accusation made by journalist Ben Ryan. Ryan said that the magazine's founder offered a 25-article contract in exchange for sexual favors.

According to Buzzfeed News, Wells met Wenner at a party in 1983. The two spent the night drinking and using drugs when Wenner suggested calling a prostitute.

After he left, Wenner took advantage of the fact that Wells was lying down and went on top of him. “He was kissing me, but you know, normal things, kissing my chest. I remember him putting his penis in my mouth. I felt helpless and left as soon as he fell asleep ,” Wells recounts.

Thinking he was gay, Wells still had sex with Wenner twice after the incident, but soon realized he was wrong, as he had never felt attraction to a man.

During this period, Wenner offered Wells a job as an editor at Rolling Stone Press, the magazine's book publisher. Wells says he never had to interview for the position and reveals that when he decided to end his relationship with Wenner, he lost the job.

Wells tells Buzzfeed that he always considered what happened to be abuse but spent all this time trying to forget what happened. Now, he felt compelled to share his story after so many public accusations.

In a statement to Buzzfeed, Wenner says he believed his relationship with Wells was mutual and consensual, "I'm sad to hear that's how he remembers that night, because it's different from how I remember it."

In early December, Penske Media bought a portion of the magazine's stock for $100 million (approximately R$325 million). Wenner will remain as editorial director.
