Roger Waters launches a new project, an adaptation of Soldier's Tale

Roger Waters ' new album is an adaptation of Igor Stravinsky's The Soldier's Tale

Roger Waters has released his adaptation of Igor Stravinsky 's The Soldier's Tale , along with a trailer to whet the appetite. The Pink Floyd narrates the 46-track composition, originally performed in France in 1918.

Stravinsky described his work as a theatre to be “read, interpreted and danced” with a cast of three actors, dancers and instruments. The opera tells the story of a Russian soldier who returns home and encounters the devil. Thus, the soldier trades his violin for unlimited wealth.

“I am extremely proud of the work and honored to have received this opportunity. It is a production that I consider not only a great work by Stravinsky, but a wonderfully beautiful recording,” said Waters.

In a statement, the press office announced: “In a fantastic new recording of this great work, Waters tells the origins of the modern fairy tale. In addition to playing the Soldier, the Devil, and the Narrator, he also plays all the other characters!”.
