Last Thursday, February 2nd, Roger Waters Dark Side Of The Moon (1973), but does not involve Pink Floyd .

“When we made the Lockdown Sessions , the 50th anniversary of Dark Side Of The Moon , and it occurred to me that it would be perfect to rework it in the same way, partly as a way to honor the original work, but also to take advantage of and revisit the album's political and emotional message,” Roger wrote on social media.
The singer also gave details about the current stage of the project: “I put the idea on the table with my collaborators Gus Seyffer and Sean Evans , and when the phase of thinking it was crazy passed, we decided to go for it and move forward. We are in the middle of the final mixing process. It turned out really great, and I'm excited for everyone to hear it.”
“It doesn’t replace the original, which is obviously irreplaceable,” Roger Waters concluded. “But it’s a way for a 79-year-old man to look back, go back 50 years in time and say, to quote a poem about my father: ‘We did our best, we kept his confidence, our father would be proud of us.’ And it’s also a way to honor a recording that Nick, Rick, Dave and I have every right to be proud of. Happy 50th anniversary to Dark Side Of The Moon .”
In February, the vocalist revealed in an interview that he re-recorded the entire album by himself, arguing that the original work is his own and not the band's collective work .
Pink Floyd, also celebrating the album's anniversary, will release a special Dark Side of the Moon .
