Roger Waters stated that his open criticism of the President of the United States, Donald Trump , could lead to his assassination.
Piers Morgan Uncensored program , the Pink Floyd vocalist and bassist said that, because of his political views, he fears that authorities or allies of Trump could kill him. "He could send masked men to shoot me in the head through my car window, like he does to anyone who disagrees with him," the musician said, referring to a case of violence by immigration agents in the US, when an immigration agent murdered Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis on January 7th.
The British musician, who lives in the United States , said he is already considering moving to Portugal or the Caribbean, as he feels that remaining in the country could be dangerous due to his publicly expressed opinions. “It may be that my residence in the United States won’t last a lifetime. It’s quite possible that Donald and his clique will make that decision for me, because he’s quite unpredictable” [transcription via Louder ].
In his statements, Waters described Trump as "evil" and "demented," accused him of governing for the benefit of billionaires, and questioned the political direction of the U.S. under his leadership.
“He’s obviously very bad, but now, in addition to being very bad, he’s also demented. He’s always been a real scoundrel. Everything he’s ever done is horrible in every way. You might think Donald Trump is a nice guy, MAGA, all that nonsense, but he doesn’t believe in any of that. He only believes in lining his own pockets and the pockets of Jared Kushner [Trump’s son-in-law]. And maybe some of his other children, and his friends Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg … And all the other oligarchs who are part of the same group,” he stated.
