The feud between giants is now virtual: Roger Waters Pink Floyd 's social media accounts by guitarist David Gilmour .
The clarification came about because Pink Floyd's social media accounts did not repost Waters' version of "Mother ," a classic by the band. He explained, "I was banned by David Gilmour from the [Pink Floyd] website."
“David thinks he owns it. I think he believes that because I left the band in 1985, he owns Pink Floyd, that he is Pink Floyd and I am irrelevant and should keep my mouth shut,” the artist states.
Roger also questions the promotion that the Pink Floyd website is giving to the live streams of Gilmour's family , who have no connection to Pink Floyd, "Why do we have to sit and watch Polly Samson , year after year, month after month, day after day – and the Von Trapps reading us excerpts from their novels to help us fall asleep at night?"
In the video's caption, titled "Announcement," Waters makes things even clearer, writing, "And when I talk about the @pinkfloyd website, I also mean the Facebook page and everything else." This story is going to get interesting, huh?
