Roger Waters has once again taken a political stance, and his latest statement could have legal consequences, including imprisonment.

Pink Floyd bassist used his social media on Sunday, the 5th, to share a video in support of Palestine Action . The pro-Palestinian organization destabilizes the arms industry in the United Kingdom through direct action.

In the video, Roger says [via Louder ]: “For the record, I support Palestinian Action,” calling the pressure group “a great organization” and sharing his belief that the “non-violent” group “is not terrorist in any way.”

The musician also displays a sign that reads: “Roger Waters supports Palestine Action. Parliament has been corrupted by agents of a genocidal foreign power! Stand up and be heard. It’s now!”

However, since Saturday, July 5th, being a member of Palestine Action or publicly expressing support for the group is a crime in the United Kingdom, because the organization has been classified as a terrorist group under the Terrorism Act 2000. The maximum penalty can be imprisonment for up to 14 years and/or a fine. On the same date, London police arrested 29 people in Parliament Square for carrying signs that read: "I oppose genocide, I support Palestine Action".

In his video, Waters declares July 5th as "Independence Day 2025" and states: "I declare my independence from the UK Government, which has just designated Palestinian Action as a terrorist organization." In the video description, he said: "This is the 'I am Spartacus' moment. Please stand up."

Roger Waters is a longtime supporter of the Palestinian people and has been accused of antisemitism for previous comments regarding the political situation in Gaza.
