Roger Waters has officially announced the release date for his version of the classic Dark Side of the Moon , called Dark Side of the Moon Redux Pink Floyd album , which will be released on October 6th.

To accompany the announcement, Roger Waters released "Money" as the first official single. The new version is darker and more introspective than the original, featuring Waters' spoken vocals in a deep tone.

Regarding the re-recording of the album, Roger Waters commented in a statement: “The original Dark Side of the Moon Dave , Rick , Nick and I were very young when we made it, and when you look at the world around us, clearly the message didn't catch on. That's why I started considering what the wisdom of an 80-year-old could bring to a reimagined version.”

“When I first mentioned the idea of re-recording The Dark Side of the Moon to Gus [ Seyffert , producer] and Sean, we all thought I was crazy, but the more we considered it, the more we thought, ‘Isn’t that the point?’ I’m immensely proud of what we’ve created, a work that can stand alongside the original, hand in hand, for half a century,” he concludes.

The Dark Side of the Moon Redux will feature reinterpretations of the 10 songs from the original album and one unreleased 13-minute track.
