Roger Taylor , from Queen , has released a solo song in partnership with KT Tunstall. “We're All Just Trying to Get By” speaks about the intensity of moments and the light at the end of the tunnel in this new song.
The song is the first single from a solo project called Outsider , which will be released on October 1st. The music video was filmed remotely during the lockdown in the UK and the US months ago.
Speaking about the song, Taylor commented: “I like to exalt the good things in life. It’s the simplest motto of all. It’s what all life on this Earth is trying to do: just trying to overcome and proliferate and exist. It’s what we’re all trying to do, from plants to animals to humans, just trying to survive. And, of course, we’re going through a fucking pandemic… We’re also trying to survive the Coronavirus too.”
The musician also mentioned that “We're All Just Trying to Get By” was already finished when he invited KT Tunstall to sing: “I loved what she did and she added new layers to the song. She’s very clever. I think people forget that she was the pioneer, as far as I know, of this looping technique that Ed Sheeran is obviously brilliant at and popularized. But what do I remember her from? 15 years ago? She’s fantastic. A talented singer and musician and I loved having her on the song.”
