Roger Daltrey, frontman of The Who, announced that he will release a solo album of new material on June 1st.
As Long As I Have You will be the musician's first solo work since Going Back Home (2014). The album was produced by Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers) and will feature eleven unreleased tracks, seven of which include a special guest appearance by guitarist and bandmate Pete Townshend.
Other guests include keyboardist Mick Talbot (Dexys Midnight Runners) and guitarist Sean Genockey (Suede). The album was recorded during The Who's 50th anniversary tour and consists of previously unreleased Daltrey songs and some covers that inspired him throughout his career.
These covers are: “Into My Arms” by Nick Cave, “You Haven't Done Nothing” by Stevie Wonder, and the title track, which was originally recorded by Garnet Mimms in 1964 and released to accompany the announcement. Listen to “As Long As I Have You” below.
