October 29th is a date saved and highlighted on the calendar for punk rock and hardcore fans. The Offspring and Bad Religion will reunite for the third edition of Rock Station, at Espaço das Américas, in São Paulo.
Direct from California, The Offspring returns to Brazil with a show that will cover their entire career. It was in 1994 that Dexter Holland and Noodles exploded onto the world stage with the album Smash and the tracks "Come Out and Play" and "Self Esteem". Since then, they've had dozens of other hardcore hits such as: "All I Want", "The Kids Aren't Alright", "Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)" and "Want You Bad".
Bad Religion, a classic American punk rock band, has a legacy spanning almost 40 years. The quintet, led by Greg Graffin, emerged in 1979 inspired by the English punk rock movement and became part of the burgeoning Californian hardcore scene. With a rhetoric full of metaphors that challenge power and address sensitive social issues, Bad Religion remains relevant and established as one of the greatest punk institutions in the world.
The band is currently on a world tour promoting their album Age of Unreason, released in May. From this album, the setlist will include songs like “Chaos of Within”, “My Sanity”, and “Lose Your Head”. But they will also not leave out the sonic powerhouses that have marked generations since the early 80s, such as: “American Jesus”, “You”, “21st Century (Digital Boy)”, “Infected”, and many more.
“The idea behind Rock Station was to create a rock and punk rock festival, primarily influenced by Punk Rock Bowling, a festival that has been held in Las Vegas for 19 years, featuring bands from the 80s, 90s, and sometimes even the 70s. Rock Station aims to showcase punk, hardcore, and other bands with these influences,” explains curator Gilson Simões of Zeroneutro Corp.
