Rock stars come together to help Steve Grimmett with hospitalization costs.

Musician underwent four operations.

A diverse group of metal musicians have come together to record a cover of Grim Reaper to help with the hospitalization costs of vocalist Steve Grimmett. The news came during an interview last Sunday on The Metal Voice, which spoke with the Grimmett couple directly from the hospital in Ecuador.

Grimmett has been in the hospital since the 17th, when he had to have his leg amputated due to an infection. The musician has since suffered several complications, even having to undergo further surgery to amputate a larger part of his leg. According to his wife Millie, Steve has already undergone four operations and is currently stable. The musician may be able to return home as early as next Friday if his condition remains stable.

In the interview, the couple revealed that a number of musicians will record the cover to help raise funds for Grimmett's recovery. Among them are Tony Dolan (Venom Inc), Neil Turbin (ex-Anthrax), Gary Holt (Slayer, Exodus), Ripper Owens (ex-Judas Priest), Doro Pesch, Bobby Blitz (Overkill), and many others. The song will be produced by Chris Tsangarides, who has previously worked with Judas Priest.
