Nearly 40 years after his death, Randy Rhoads will receive rock's highest honor and be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2021.

The guitarist is one of the greatest and most important in rock history, and now his name will be in the Hall of Fame. His induction into the organization was celebrated by a number of musicians, including Dave Grohl , who told Rolling Stone : “I wish I could play those guitar solos [at a tribute], but unfortunately, someone else will have to do it. I saw [that Randy was elected] and I felt very happy for Ozzy . I'm sure Ozzy is having a very exciting day.”

Rudy Sarzo , Rhoads' bandmate, also commented on the nomination on his Twitter: "Woke up this morning to this wonderful news. #randyrhoads #neverforget #rockandrollhalloffame2021".

Among other musicians who celebrated the tribute, Tom Morello also took to social media to comment on the news: “Congratulations to Randy Rhoads on his induction into the Hall of Fame. Unparalleled talent who effortlessly combined timeless riffs, technical mastery and the raw power of Rock. It was his poster that I had on my wall when I practiced 8 hours a day. A tremendous musician. A more than deserved honor.”

The 2021 Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on October 30th.
