Guns N' Roses is a rock classic, but have you ever imagined a classical music orchestra reinterpreting the band's catalog? The Petrobras Symphony Orchestra has announced a tribute performance to the group at the online festival taking place between June 24th and 27th.
With diverse performances, going far beyond the traditional, the Orchestra announced a program that ranges from classical to pop, including children's music, to delight all tastes and ages. With hits such as "Sweet Child O' Mine," "Patience," and "Welcome to the Jungle" confirmed in the repertoire, guitars will give way to electric violins, showing that it is possible to combine classical music concerts with rock.
“With the concert dedicated to the band Guns N' Roses , the Petrobras Symphony Orchestra once again stands out as a pioneer in bringing unusual repertoires (...), showing the orchestra in its entirety and all its potential in interpreting any type of repertoire,” comments Felipe Prazeres , conductor and concertmaster of the Petrobras Symphony Orchestra. “We will present two solo electric violins and an electric cello, so all of Slash Axl Rose 's unmistakable voice will be present through the orchestra's sections. We are all excited and ready to get into the rock vibe.”
The unprecedented concert featuring Guns N' Roses songs takes place this Friday, the 25th, at 9 PM. The broadcast will be completely free on the Orchestra's YouTube channel.
