Rock and metal fans certainly have an advantage when it comes to working out: the perfect soundtrack to keep the energy flowing. But are there bands that are more suitable for this moment? A recent study by Velotrick discovered the choices of those who are passionate about exercising.
The research surveyed one thousand "fitness fanatics" and used Spotify data to identify "workout" music. Overall, the results showed that 93% of respondents need music during workouts to stay motivated.
In the top 5 most listened-to artists during workouts, rock is represented by Queen , in third place, behind only Michael Jackson and Eminem . Metalheads, on the other hand, prefer Metallica , in fifth place, tied with Drake , cited by 25% of people.
Among the fitness enthusiasts surveyed, pop, hip hop, and rap lead the preferences for workout music, but classic rock comes in third place with 39% of the votes. The most listened-to bands within the genre are Queen , Pink Floyd , and The Beatles .
Heavy metal comes next, in fourth place, being the musical genre chosen for the playlists of 32% of participants, with Metallica, Pantera and Iron Maiden being chosen as the ideal bands for working out.
