After announcing the acts for Rock Day , expectations for a metal night at Rock in Rio were set for September 21st, the only day yet to be announced. Historically, the festival has always had at least two nights dedicated to heavier rock.
However, the trend of downplaying rock music has been happening in recent editions. And now it has reached its peak by limiting the heavier acts to just one day. The lineup announced for the 21st will be a tribute to all musical genres. And for the first time in its history, Rock In Rio is making room for sertanejo (Brazilian country music). The festival has announced Chitãozinho e Xororó , Luan Santana , Ana Castela , among others.
Rock Day, taking place on September 15th, will feature Avenged Sevenfold , Evanescence , and Journey Deep Purple and Incobus have been announced for the Sunset Stage .
The next edition of the festival celebrates the fortieth anniversary of Rock In Rio . The festival takes place September 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, 21 and 22
