Rock in Rio 2021 may be postponed, according to journalist José Norberto Flesch . The event is scheduled to take place on September 24, 25, 26 and 30 and October 1, 2 and 3, but, according to Flesch, the edition may be moved to the end of November and the beginning of December.

Following the news, the Jornal do Rio published a statement from the festival organizers saying that the event will proceed as scheduled. "The organization is monitoring all government decisions and scenarios, evaluating the conditions so that, this year, it can be held without jeopardizing everyone's health," the statement said.

This year's edition will, for now, feature Iron Maiden, Sepultura, Dream Theater , and Megadeth . In December 2020, the festival's owner, Roberto Medina , said in an interview with Extra that this edition will be "by far the best in history."
