In 2024, Rock in Rio celebrates its 40th anniversary. To celebrate in style, the festival has announced the participation of more than 50 international and national artists. This year there will be no special day for Metal, but the Rock Day promises unmissable performances.

Rock in Rio has already announced that there are only a few tickets left for Rock Day , which takes place on September 15th. To get the audience excited, we've selected 6 standout shows:

Avenged Sevenfold

One of the most anticipated bands will be returning to Brazilian soil after a decade. Headlining Rock Day, Avenged Sevenfold is back after a long period away from the stage and without new music, with their eighth studio album, Life is But a Dream (2023), the successor to The Stage (2016). The group has been performing at major festivals such as Rock am Ring in Germany and Hellfest in France, and promises a great show at Rock City.

Evanescence

Confirmed to perform on the World Stage, the band returns after a year since their last tour in Brazil with a historic show at Allianz Parque in São Paulo, where they delivered the biggest solo show of their career to date. Evanescence is one of the bands with the most hit songs that defined a generation and continue to resonate with fans around the world. Even with the short time since their last visit to Brazil, the band promises to bring many fans to Rock City for another historic show.

Planet Hemp invites Pitty

The most anticipated collaboration of the day! Both artists have performed at previous editions of Rock in Rio and return to the City of Rock in September for a historic collaboration. With a performance scheduled for the Sunset Stage, this show promises a lot of energy and the Brazilian flair already known from Planet Hemp's performances, along with the rebelliousness and rock of the queen Pitty . The artists have already performed together at Planet Hemp's special 30th-anniversary show at Espaço Unimed in São Paulo. Planet Hemp was also invited to record a version of Pitty's song "Admirável Chip Novo" to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of the album that marked a generation and made the artist achieve national success.

Black Panther

A rising star in Brazilian metal, the Minas Gerais-based group takes the Rock in Rio stage for the second time. Their blend of metal, punk, and hardcore, with anti-racist lyrics, was one of the best surprises of the 2022 edition of the festival. Since then, Black Pantera has continued to make a name for itself and promises another iconic show to mark the 40th anniversary of Rock in Rio. The band continues to promote their new album, PERPÉTUO , released in May of this year. Maintaining their roots in metal, punk, hardcore, and Brazilian music, they also incorporate percussion instruments, connecting with their ancestral ties and politically charged lyrics.

Deep Purple

With over 50 years in the business, they are one of the pioneers of heavy metal and modern hard rock. Known for their intense and admirable performances, Deep Purple evokes nostalgia and, alongside Journey , makes up a setlist to please longtime rock fans. Proving their vitality and continued history-making, the , =1 , on July 19th . The band will also perform a solo show in São Paulo on September 13th , two days before their Rock in Rio performance. The show will be at Espaço Unimed as part of the =1 More Time , promoting the album =1 and celebrating the 50th anniversary of Machine Head (1972).

The Mönic invites Eskröta

The union of the two bands will give rise to a unique show full of surprises. Representing garage rock and national metal, the two bands have distinct sounds but together promise to rock the City of Rock. The Mönic and Eskröta are already known in the scene for their female empowerment and songs that portray social issues, in addition to being rising names. The two bands promise a grand debut, showing the public why they were chosen for the Rock in Rio lineup.

Celebrating Rock Day, the lineup includes Paralamas do Sucesso , Journey, Incubus, Barão Vermelho, Crypta, Dead Fish, and others.
