Rock in Rio 2022 is almost here, and its ninth edition in Brazil promises lots of music and entertainment over seven days. The event, which normally takes place every two years, had to change its format due to the pandemic. The last edition of the festival was in 2019, and now it will always be held in even-numbered years.

To help those attending the event, we've created a complete guide to Rock in Rio with all the information you need to enjoy the event.

Location and dates

Rock in Rio takes place at a venue known as Cidade do Rock (City of Rock). Currently, the venue is located in the Barra da Tijuca Olympic Park, in the city of Rio de Janeiro. It is located at Avenida Embaixador Abelardo Bueno, nº 3401.

In addition to the concerts, Rock in Rio features entertainment zones such as Gameplay Arena (an area geared towards gamers); Uirapuru (a performance by the duo Charles Möeller and Cláudio Botelho); and NAVE (a structure created in partnership with Natura, which will offer an experience focused on contemporary Amazonia).

Furthermore, the structure includes Route 85, a space that carries the entire history of the event.
