Rock In Rio has announced more metal artists for the 2022 edition as part of the Supernova stage lineup, with Crypta , Surra, Matanza Ritual , and Ratos de Porão performing on September 2nd.
In partnership with Filtr Brasil, the space will follow the concept of "Dream Factory," featuring leading national music artists as well as established and recognized acts seeking to explore new paths in their careers, whether by innovating their musical styles or venturing into other rhythms.
For 2022, the festival announced four new acts for September 2nd, known as Metal Day. The Brazilian/Dutch death metal band Crypta, founded in 2019 by Luana Dametto and Fernanda Lira , with Tainá Bergamaschi on guitar, will open the performances on stage, followed by the trashcore trio Surra, originally from Santos, São Paulo, formed by Leeo Mesquita (vocals, guitar), Guilherme Elias (bass, vocals) and Victor Miranda (drums), promoting the album Escorrendo Pelo Ralo (2019).
The Matanza Ritual project, launched in 2019, will continue to set the pace for the day's metal, which will have fans headbanging to Matanza's music, performed by Jimmy London on vocals, Antonio Araujo (Korzus) on guitar, Felipe Andreoli (Angra) on bass, and Amilcar Christófaro (Torture Squad) on drums. And closing the first day of the festival, the band Ratos de Porão, which recently celebrated 40 years of career, will give a memorable performance commemorating four decades of success.
