The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced the nominees for the institution's class of 2025.
14 artists are on the list, spanning rock and other musical styles. Oasis , Soundgarden , Billy Idol , The Black Crowes , and Bad Company are among the bands vying for the nomination. (via Loudwire )
To be eligible for a spot, the artist/band must have released a recording at least 25 years prior to the year of their nomination.
Of the nominees, 8 are seeking induction for the first time: Outkast , Billy Idol, Bad Company, Joe Cocker , Chubby Checker , The Black Crowes, Mana, and Phish .
Maná is one of the highlights, being the first band to record primarily in Spanish that is eligible to apply for a place at the institution. (via Variety )
The winners are expected to be announced at the end of April. The ceremony will take place between October and November in Los Angeles.
