The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has revealed the list of nominees for the 2020 event. A total of 16 artists were announced, including Motörhead , Judas Priest , Soundgarden , Thin Lizzy, and Nine Inch Nails .
T-Rex , Pat Benatar , Todd Rundgren , Depeche Mode , Dave Matthews Band , The Doobie Brothers , Kraftwerk , Whitney Houston , The Notorious B.I.G. , and Rufus featuring Chaka Khan are also on the list.
Motörhead, Soundgarden, and Thin Lizzy are listed for the first time as inductees into the Hall of Fame. Judas Priest made the list for the second time. This year, Def Leppard , The Cure , Stevie Nicks , Radiohead , Roxy Music , The Zombies and Janet Jackson were inducted at the event that took place in March.
For the 2020 ceremony, fans can vote for their favorite artist until January 10th at this link . After the voting, the Hall of Fame jury will choose five names to be inducted. The ceremony will take place on May 2nd at the Public Auditorium in Cleveland, Ohio.
The nominees are selected by a group of over a thousand artists, historians, journalists, and members of the music industry. Artists are eligible 25 years after their debut work. Furthermore, the organization values musicians, composers, and artists who possess invaluable worth within their musical genre.
