Roberto Barros recently announced Edu Falaschi 's band after almost 8 years and two studio albums. In a video published on his YouTube channel Angra vocalist .

In the video, Roberto Barros begins by thanking all the band members and everyone who, directly or indirectly, was part of these almost eight years of his career. During this period, two studio albums were recorded: Vera Cruz (2021) and Eldorado (2023) , both significant milestones in the musician's career.

The guitarist's primary reason for leaving is his desire to take a sabbatical year to dedicate himself intensely to his studies, something that has always been one of his passions.

“The main reason I left is that I want to take a year off for myself, a sabbatical year, to study intensely,” he explains. “It’s something I’ve always loved doing. There are several accounts from the band saying that I studied before and after the show, which is something I love to do. Besides that, I want to do my own work as well.”

The second reason is related to his focus on personal projects. Roberto Barros reveals that, for the last six or seven years, the band has maintained an intense work pace, composing and recording albums, which has left him with no time to dedicate to other initiatives. He elaborates:

“I want to do my own work too, because for the last seven years, we haven't stopped in Edu Falaschi's band. And I'm not complaining, these are things I've wanted my whole life. But, in the band, I had a different role from all the other musicians. I was a composer along with Edu, so, in a way, I was the one who worked the most in the band after Edu. We composed Vera Cruz for a year and a half, with some breaks because of the pandemic, and I spent about 15 or 20 days every month at Edu's house. And that's how it was throughout the pre-production period. Then, the same thing during the Eldorado . Then the recording period, then the tour preparation period.”

After these years in Edu Falaschi's band, the guitarist says he now wants new things: to study, finish his own album, and an album with Aquiles Priester . He concludes:

“Life is full of cycles, and this is the moment when I want to experience new things, I want to study a lot, I want to make my album, I want to finish my album with Aquiles Priester, which is very beautiful, I think there are only 3 songs left. That's it, man, and whatever else comes. I have plans to move to the United States, I'm already looking into my visa process, anyway, you never know.”

Roberto Barros further insists that he left for no other reason and jokes about conspiracy theories, saying that he wasn't the one chosen to join Mastodon . He also says he participated in a tour playing the entire Temple of Shadows , which he considers one of his favorite records, and that this is Edu's story.
