Roberto Barros recalls classes with Kiko Loureiro: "They create a rivalry that doesn't exist."

Edu Falaschi's guitarist commented on comparisons with the former Angra member and denied any rivalry.

Roberto Barros , guitarist for Edu Falaschi , is compared to Kiko Loureiro for his technique and for playing songs written by the former Angra and current Megadeth .

Despite attempts by some of the public to create a rivalry, Barros was a student of Loureiro in the early 2000s. “Kiko is a genius, an incredible guitarist,” he said in an interview with Ibagenscast . “The lessons were very different, I remember them very fondly.”

According to Roberto Barros, the distinguishing feature of Loureiro's classes was the professor's extensive repertoire, which included challenges with works of Brazilian music, such as improvising on "Tico-Tico no Fubá," performed by Carmen Miranda Maurice Ravel 's "Bolero."

“I think he does play a big role in my career, probably what I am today owes a part to him,” Barros continued. “Not in the musical sense per se, but I mean in the sense of everything, because back then I was inspired by him playing, by how he was. I have great admiration for him.”

Finally, Roberto Barros put an end to any rumors of rivalry, since the two don't even have close contact. "People end up making this comparison because I play his songs with Edu (...) and it ends up creating this image as if there were a rivalry that doesn't exist, I admire him immensely, he's a virtuoso on the guitar."
