Metallica 's official fan club , bassist Robert Trujillo spoke about recording the new album, which is expected later this year. Check out his statement:
“I can say that James and I had a lot of fun last week doing the backing vocals, it was probably the most fun thing since the album. I wouldn't even call it work. It was super fun recording those choruses. He had a big smile on his face and so did I, and that's something I'll always remember because I don't think I've ever done anything at that level. I mean, we've done one thing or another, but this was the first time for me that I was in the recording booth with him. It was really cool. So I feel great. The bass sounds are killer. I'd say they're the best bass sounds I've ever done with this band, for sure, and for me that's already a positive. I'm very proud of what Greg [Fidelman, producer] did with the sound of my instruments, and I'm proud of the way I played. We had a blast.”
