A battle between bass giants? We've got it!
Robert Trujillo of Metallica faced off against Les Claypool of Primus in a bass battle for the short film Precious Metals , directed by Les's son, Cage Claypool .
“As a veteran music video director and aspiring filmmaker, I feel immense pride in seeing my son Cage dive into the world of cinematography and excel at it,” Claypool said in a statement. “He amazes me with his skill set, perspective, work ethic, and ease of collaboration. That’s my boy!!”
The production was made to promote the new EMG pickups, the Les Claypool Signature Pachyderm Gold P-Bass Pickup , and shows the bassists facing off in a real Wild West brawl that ends, luckily for us, in a collaboration between the two that will go down in history.
