Trio plays medley of Metallica covers
Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo performed live again with the Mexican duo Rodrigo y Gabriela at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado.
During the performance, when Trujillo joined them on stage, the three of them played a medley of Metallica covers together.
"Like a lot of young people in Mexico, we were heavily influenced by metal bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera, and also Sepultura," explains Gabriela.
When asked if the connection with the Headbangers has diminished over time, Rodrigo stated, “No, actually it has grown! You go to our show and see a lot of Metalheads. It was amazing to receive recognition from the “kings,” from Metallica themselves, and to have the opportunity to play with Robert frequently. It’s great because it opens doors with the Headbangers. It makes it clear to people that we love Metal .
