Robert Plant played the classic "Stairway to Heaven" for the first time in 16 years. The performance took place last Saturday, the 21st, during a benefit concert.
This version marked the first time he had sung the 1971 classic by his original band since 2007, when he performed at Led Zeppelin's "Celebration Day" concert at London's O2 Arena.
The event was part of The Cancer Platform , developed by the Cancer Awareness Trust and organized by former Duran Duran guitarist Andy Taylor . The show took place at Soho Farmhouse in Oxfordshire and featured other guests such as Ella Henderson, Andre Ridgeley of Wham!, Guy Pratt, formerly of Pink Floyd, David Palmer, and Katherine Ryan.
